The issue of Malaria in Namibia

Malaria is generally confined to the northern region of Namibia and you need to protect yourself.

Malaria is spread by mosquito bites and if left untreated can be even fatal.

Symptoms of the disease can be flu like symptoms, fever, shakes, chills, muscle aches, vomiting, headaches and diarrhoea. Maleria affects the red blood cells of your body and can also induce jaundice and anemia.

Symptoms may not show until a long time of the bite and if you feel sick and have visited North Namibia recently, you should immediately get a blood test and if necessary treatment.

Visit a local pharmacy in Windhoek or Swakopmund and follow all the prevention instructions from locals. It may be a simple case of putting on bug repellent that could go a long way to saving your life.
