Working in Namibia

If you have travelled to Namibia and are looking at returning to get yourself a job, there are certain requirements that you need to know.

It is against Namibian law for you to work in the country without the correct visa, as well as staying in the country for longer than 90 days on a tourist visa. The relevant visa will all depend on the country you are from. For most citizens around the world you will be permitted to stay in Namibia as a tourist for 90 days, but you will be prohibited from doing any work that will reward you with payment. For the most part too you will be prohibited from doing any form of volunteer work as well.

You will need to contact your local Namibian embassy in order to apply to work in Namibia. If your country does not have a Namibian embassy, you will need to find a neighbouring country that does and that will no doubt cover the country that you live in.

There will be fees involved in processing your application, and how much these fees are will depend entirely on your location. It's important that you do your research as you don't want to arrive in Namibia with the incorrect visa and be deported straight away!
